<description>I just read a post on another blog about a student's journal entry on her experience of a Take Back the Night rally. This student was struck by how many women that she knew were there and told their story, stories that she hadn't known before. And, oh yeah, a male friend of hers had been falsely accused of rape.

The writer of the post (the journal was written in her class) said she wouldn't have believed that except she knew a man that had happened to also.

Sigh. I decided to believe the student, I completely believe the writer of the post. Yet, a post about Take Back the Night had two separate stories about false accusations of rape. My comment was that I get tired, so very tired, of always discussing zebras every time the subject of horses comes up.

Then I followed the link from Zuzu to here. Thanks.

<description>This woman needs to walk into a bar after reading this post...depressingly well written. Thanks.

<description>I often have the same deal when writing about feminist stuff - like since I'm trying to Make The World A Better Place&#8482;, I should be the best person there is, and that includes being fair and balanced and inclusive and all those happy things.&#160; So, naturally, that means making sure I make no absolute statements, and making sure I always include men in any woman-oriented thing I feel like writing.

At some point, the wiring goes fizzle, and I try my best to go back to being human instead.

(A disjointed way of saying "I totally hear ya".)
