		<description>I am a big dumb man. Even so, I'm all for women being allowed to work, divorce, raise kids on their own, etc. etc.

But what's so stinking bad about a guy holding a door open or footing the bill at a restaurant? I like putting the women in my life on a pedestal. They deserve it. Don't you deserve a man who treats you like a goddess?

I'm interested to hear what you've got to say. That's always been a sore spot for me with the feminist movement.

		<description>I'm so sorry that you had to put up with that kind of steaming bovine waste in your own space, from people who call you friend and have obviously never really thought about feminism at all. Debate I can deal with, and even agreeing to disagree (even when someone else really IS wrong ;), as long as people stay civil and keep talking. What you put up with was not civil, and those people ought to be ashamed of themselves.

You write GOOD, lady -- keep it up. Keep fighting the good fight and ignore that BS about "you can't change the world". It's a good thing no one ever told that to Susan B., eh? ;) Or any of the many, many nameless women who fought so long and so hard to get us the right to vote, to be full citizens in our own country. The women who faced arrest, beatings, and forced feeding in prison (some of whom died from pneumonia as a direct result), who faced ugly threats flung at them any time they dared voice their opinions in public. But the world did change, and it will continue to change, whether the people who fear that change and equality like it or not. And you are one of the voices that will be behind that change.

You Rock. Keep up the good work.

		<description>Thank you, thank you, thank you for not giving up.

If you ever need to go for your own sanity, I'm not going to berate you for it. I will, however, express my gratitude for you sticking around.

I need to read people like you to become who I want to be.

So, thank you.

		<description>&lt;i&gt;the incredibly bitter discussion where I had to spell out to my partner that "women's issues" aren't exactly a special-interest when they discuss 51% of the population &lt;/i&gt;

OMG. I had this discussion with the Gentleman. Also the discussion about why I wasn't going to stop calling the white male hegemony the patriarchy, even if he finds it off-putting, and the conversation about it being okay for him to hold the door for me, as long as I get to hold it for him, too. Also the one about how the extreme positions he thinks are feminism are examples of extreme feminist positions, but not positions that I hold.

Keep writing, lady.
